Ellen Rifkin, LCSW
My Job Description: To provide safety and direction as we unearth your capacity to reach your goals.
My Belief About Therapy: Making room for all the contradictions—where we come from and what we desire, what we nurture and what we deny—breaks the stuckness and lets movement arise.
Challenges I Can Help With: Loss, anxiety, depression, cultural oppressions, chronic pain, trauma (including sexual abuse and domestic violence); as well as struggles with identity, communication, and transitions such as teens and young adulthood, midlife, and coming out.
Modalities I use: Humanistic, cognitive, and sensorimotor approaches; mindfulness and meditation; EMDR, movement, writing, art.
My personal supports: nature, poetry, music, and a composite perspective on life that is feminist, Buddhist, Jewish, socialist, and grounded in our bodies and the earth.
I am available for appointments on Wednesdays. Please call 541-513-2782.
